Advertising is everywhere in our lives. On the radio, on TV, in newspapers and magazines and of course billboards outside everywhere shouting their messages at us. Online it has also become pervasive , with companies such as Google, Yahoo and Facebook building their businesses on models of how to provide advertising to marketers coveted targets.

When the Amitel website was launched we had a philosophical debate on whether to “monetize” the site by accepting ads on the website. We have deliberately chosen not to do so and thus forgone the potential additional revenue.

In our view, accepting ads would detract from our core vision of connecting with you, our customers, online. We have tried to make the website visually appealing, neat and orderly, so that you can quickly and easily find the information you need and easily interact with us. That is also why we made the website fully responsive, so that it would resize to fit whatever screen you view it on, whether a smartphone, a tablet a laptop or desktop computer.

That mission, to connect with you, is far more important to us, hence the decision to not accept ads on the website. We welcome your feedback, please leave us a comment on this post and tell us how you feel about our website and our decision.
